See You on Saturday for Game 3

After a victory just a few days earlier, our Parisians fell short on the court in Dijon (80-79) in Game 2 of the quarter-finals. A cruel ending that our players will have to quickly put behind them in order to secure qualification.

It all came down to the wire ! After a hard-fought battle, our Parisians were narrowly defeated by JDA Dijon in Game 2 of the Betclic ELITE quarter-finals. A loss that came in the closing moments of the game. And yet, Paris started strong. Led by our dynamic trio, the capital club managed to overcome Dijon’s tight defense and put points on the board. But the home side quickly responded. Spurred on by their fans, Dijon managed to take control of the game and open up a lead, though our players stayed close thanks to a huge performance from Maodo Lô, who scored 11 points by halftime and was on fire from three-point range (5/8, a career high). Still, it was the home team that led at the break (HT, 34-33).

Coming out of the locker room, Paris stepped up the pace. After struggling from beyond the arc in the first half, they found their rhythm again and reclaimed the lead. What followed was a true boxing match, with both teams trading blows, but Tiago Splitter’s men managed to pull ahead, pushing their opponents back and building an 8-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. But then, in the clutch, the tide turned. After being off-target from three-point range for most of the game, Dijon suddenly caught fire from deep. Despite this, our players refused to give in and held onto a 4-point lead with just 1 minute and 30 seconds left. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough…

In the end, it was a heartbreaking loss that our team will need to bounce back from quickly, as they face Dijon again this Saturday at 4:30 PM at the adidas arena in a decisive Game 3 with a semi-final spot on the line !
