Paris Wins the French Cup !
At the end of a match they dominated from start to finish, our Parisians overcame the valiant team from Le Mans (80-91) and claimed the first French Cup in the club’s history !
HIS-TOR-IC! After 40 minutes of great efficiency, Paris Basketball defeated Le Mans in the French Cup final, earning the third title in the club’s history! From the very start, our Parisians came out strong. Sebastian Herrera and Mickael Jantunen were raining down three-pointers, while Kevarrius Hayes and Mathis Dossou-Yovo took care of cleaning up in the paint, locking down both ends of the court. And that was before our key players truly woke up. Led by an outstanding Tyson Ward and a highly accurate Nadir Hifi from beyond the arc, Paris capitalized on their defensive intensity and Le Mans’ struggles at the free-throw line to widen the gap. Quite logically, TJ Shorts and his teammates went into halftime with the lead (48-42).
After the break, Paris picked up the pace. Remaining focused and extremely tough on defense, our players shut down any access to the paint, limiting MSB to just 12 points in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Mickael Jantunen and Nadir Hifi continued to build our lead on the scoreboard, perfectly supported by Collin Malcolm’s contributions. Then, as the final 10 minutes approached, TJ Shorts stepped up and took control of the game — a final push from which MSB could not recover. Victorious, Paris Basketball clinches the first French Cup in its history and the third club title in just a year and a half !
A collective success that crowns the hard work of the entire group and gives us great confidence heading into the clash against Fenerbahçe this Tuesday (8:30 PM) for Game 3 of the EuroLeague quarterfinals ! Our players are fighting for survival on Europe’s biggest stage, and they’ll need your support to push them toward victory ! Don’t wait — get your tickets here and keep dreaming with us !
