Paris Gets the Job Done Against Chalon

In a game they controlled from start to finish, our Parisians secured a home win against Elan Chalon (100-97). An important victory ahead of their Euroleague matchup with Fenerbahçe today.

Job done ! After a physical and intense contest, our Parisian team came away with a key win. In the first half, Paris dictated the tempo. Mickael Jantunen and Nadir Hifi led the offensive charge with multiple successes from beyond the arc, while Mathis Dossou-Yovo locked down the paint, well supported by our very own Léo Cavalière. In the second quarter, it was Yakuba Ouattara’s turn to take over. Drives, penetrations, catch & shoot, powerful finishes—Yak put on a full display against his former club, who simply had no answer. Then, just before halftime, TJ Shorts (18 points, 7 assists) did what he does best, sinking a buzzer-beater to close out the half. Deservedly, Tiago Splitter’s men led at the break (50-46).

After the break, the pace picked up. Our Parisians rained down three-pointers on Chalon, though the visitors responded well through their dynamic duo Hill and Paul (31 and 27 points respectively). But just as Chalon was clawing its way back into the game, Tyson Ward decided to channel his inner “Vince Carter” and finished off a brilliant team play with a powerful dunk that sent the entire Adidas Arena into a frenzy—much to the delight of our two-time Olympic silver medalist Auriane Mallo-Breton. That electrifying moment helped our team refocus (30’, 79-70).

In the fourth quarter, Sebastian Herrera looked to seal the deal with two huge back-to-back three-pointers. Still, a late surge from Chalon nearly cost Paris the win. But staying mentally tough, Tiago Splitter’s squad managed to hold off the comeback.

A true team win—with six Parisian players scoring in double digits—that solidifies our spot as league runners-up and gives the team a boost of confidence heading into Istanbul for Game 1 of the Euroleague playoffs!
