Paris Falls to Fener
After an exceptionally intense game, our players were defeated on Fenerbahçe’s court in Game 1 of the EuroLeague playoffs (83-78).
1-0 Fener. It was a tremendous battle, even though our Parisians started the game strong. In rhythm and focused, Tiago Splitter’s men got off to a flying start, showcasing some high-level team plays. The TJ Shorts – Kevarrius Hayes connection wreaked havoc in the opponent’s paint, while our defensive intensity rattled the experienced Istanbul side. However, the Turkish team managed to stay close and eventually took the lead in the second quarter, despite a standout performance from Tyson Ward (19 points, 23 efficiency rating). At halftime, the home team was ahead on the scoreboard (20’, 49-42).
Back from the locker room, it was Nadir Hifi’s turn to step up. Our French international caught fire, hitting two outrageous three-pointers that helped us regain the lead, once again brilliantly supported by Tyson Ward—setting the stage for a wild finish. It turned into a real boxing match, with both teams trading blows, but Paris ultimately fell to a more experienced squad backed by its home crowd. Despite a late surge led by Yakuba Ouattara, Tiago Splitter’s men came up short on the road but will have a chance to bounce back this Thursday in Game 2 of the EuroLeague playoffs!
As for our return to the Adidas Arena, it’s scheduled for April 29 for Game 3 of the series! So don’t hesitate—come out and support our Parisians and help push them to victory by grabbing the last remaining tickets here !
