Hero of the Game – April 20, 2025: A Star for Hope

On April 20, during the Paris Basketball game at the adidas arena, the Paris Basketball Foundation honored the association Marie Notre Étoile as part of its Hero of the Game program.

Founded in 2016 in memory of Marie, a young girl who passed away from pediatric cancer, the association Marie Notre Étoile is dedicated to supporting research into these diseases, which affect one in 400 children before the age of 15. Thanks to the commitment of her family and many volunteers, the association has raised over €1,000,000—all of which has been donated directly to research, with no fundraising fees, in partnership with Imagine for Margo.

Through its Hero of the Game program, the Paris Basketball Foundation provides a platform for organizations that share its values of inclusion, solidarity, and resilience. The presence of Marie Notre Étoile on the court helped raise public awareness about the fight against pediatric cancers and highlighted the importance of volunteering and collective action.
