The Incredible Streak Continues for Cavalière
After the success against Milan, Léopold Cavalière shared his thoughts on his ongoing streak of games with Paris Basketball.
With 55 consecutive games played, you’re on track for the longest current streak by a player with Paris Basketball. What does this symbolize for you ?
“Well, it feels good! (laughs). First of all, the medical aspect is important. I have to give credit to the medical staff who did an amazing job. Staying healthy this year and being available all season was a real goal for me because I’ve missed a lot of games in previous seasons. I had knee surgery last year, before that I had an ankle sprain, and so on. I really wanted to stay as available as possible for the team. But the season isn’t over yet. And then, seeing that the coach fully trusts me, that really feels good to know. I like this all-risk insurance quality I have.”
The win against Milan must have felt really good as well…
“Absolutely. It was a fantastic evening, but nothing is decided yet… The schedule is quite tough. The double week against Fenerbahçe and Panathinaikos is going to be intense! Then, we’re playing at Real Madrid, and we know it’s never easy to beat them there, and we finish against Berlin, which we really need to win because it could be very important. We’re aware that we’re going through a pivotal moment in our season. We knew it was already the case in Kaunas, and we’re a bit upset that we didn’t manage to secure the win…”
With these last two victories (Bourg-en-Bresse and Milan), do you feel like the momentum has shifted?
“I’m not sure there’s really been a shift. I like to think that we approach every game the same way. We stay true to ourselves, and I think there are still things to improve from the game. We just learn from our mistakes, we improve with every game, and we’ll try to do the same in the upcoming ones.”
