Hayes: “We will be ready for Real”

Following the big win against Gravelines-Dunkerque – the largest margin of victory this season in Betlic ELITE – Kevarrius Hayes reflected on this great collective success and the upcoming challenges for Paris Basketball.

Did you feel all that love from the fans in a sold-out adidas arena?
“Yes, they are amazing! They transmit their energy to us. Hearing them cheer and support us when we’re a bit tired, it makes us want to give everything, to keep bringing intensity. It’s very important for us, especially with all these important games at the end of the season, to be able to rely on their help and the energy they give us. I have a message for them: we love you guys, we will need you until the end.“

Kevarrius, this is two big wins in a row before facing Real Madrid on Thursday. A crucial game for our future in the EuroLeague. How does the team feel?
“We did everything to bring home the victory against Panathinaikos. This success gives us a chance for the playoffs. It’s what we wanted at the start of the season. Against Real, we will be ready.”

There’s also Le Mans coming next week, our opponents in the French Cup final. How do you prepare for this kind of matchup?
“By working on our mistakes. I think the first-leg match helped us build the game and the habits we have today. In the first half, we missed a lot of three-pointers, allowed too many offensive rebounds, before coming back strong in the second half. We need to focus on that. Our EuroLeague games also help us maintain our rhythm and keep us at the top of the league.”
