FAIR PLAY

Making sport accessible to everyone, without exception.

The programme

Fair Play programme is dedicated to providing access to sport for people on the autism spectrum. It is based on the belief that sport – whether experienced as a spectator or a participant – must be accessible to everyone, without exception. Fair Play is structured around two complementary strands, designed to cover the entire sporting experience.

The first component focuses on accessibility at the adidas arena, enabling people on the autism spectrum and their carers to fully enjoy their role as supporters. This is achieved, in particular, through the complete fitting out of a sensory room within the arena: a space designed to provide a calming and adapted environment, allowing everyone to experience the intensity of a match in conditions that respect their sensory needs.

The second part provides access to playing basketball, thanks to the launch of an adapted section. This section offers weekly training sessions, supervised by coaches specialising in Adapted Physical Activities and Health (APAS), ensuring personalised and safe support for every young person.

Beneficiaries

The programme is aimed at young people on the autism spectrum. To develop support that meets their needs, our foundation works closely with charities, SESSADs (Special Education and Home Care Services) and specialist professionals, who ensure that the care provided is appropriate and compassionate.

Our commitment

Through Fair Play, the Paris Basketball Foundation reaffirms its belief that sport should be open to everyone. By giving these young people the means to experience sport to the full, whether in the stands or on the court, it aims to break down the barriers that all too often still prevent them from accessing it, and to offer them a full place within the sporting community.
