Aim Trophy of the Future

As we approach the final matchday of the Espoirs ÉLITE season, Paris Basketball still has every chance of competing in its first Trophée du Futur. However, nothing is guaranteed yet, and here’s why !

The final match of our regular season takes place this Saturday at 3pm, right here at the adidas arena. On matchday 30 of the league, our Under-21s will face ASVEL right here at our home ground. To stand a chance of securing a place in the Top 7 – which guarantees a spot in the Trophée du Futur – Paris have no choice but to beat a Villeurbanne side that has recently been out of form.

But our qualification for the post-season will also be decided in Cholet! As well as winning, Paris Basketball will need Nanterre to lose away to the current leaders of the Espoirs ÉLITE. Thanks to a better head-to-head record, Julien Mahé’s side would then move ahead of their neighbours from the Île-de-France region.

This qualification would be a superb achievement, given that the Trophée du Futur is a tournament bringing together the eight best youth academies from professional clubs. Its format is similar to that of the Leaders Cup, comprising three days of competition: 29 May – quarter-finals, 30 May – semi-finals, 31 May – final. These knockout matches will be held this year in Strasbourg.

Our young Parisians will need all your support this Saturday! A single ticket allows you to watch the Espoirs match at 3pm, followed by our first team’s match at 7pm. So if you haven’t already done so, just click here to book your seat.
