Paris Aiming for the Top
With a series of 10 consecutive victories, our players are heading to Lyon to face ASVEL in one of the EuroLeague derbies.
Currently leading the EuroLeague standings for the past two game weeks and fresh off a win against Olympiacos, our team continues to make waves in this competition where we are still considered rookies. Rookies, yes, but a real thorn in the side for all these teams that didn’t expect us to reach this level. Ten straight wins, just three shy of Real Madrid’s record in this format of the competition.
ASVEL, a formidable opponent
Sitting 3rd in the French championship and 15th in the EuroLeague with a record of 5 wins and 9 losses, ASVEL will be eager to show that they remain a seasoned team at this level. Coached by Pierric Poupet, they are coming off a loss against Olimpia Milano but have proven capable of delivering stunning performances, like their buzzer-beater win over Real Madrid. With several players who have NBA experience, their roster is built for these kinds of challenges.
A tricky match for Paris?
With a streak of 14 consecutive wins, this is one of those games that might seem within Paris’s reach. We’ve had games where, on paper, we weren’t necessarily the favorites. Tomorrow, in our current position, we will be—and that might just be the trap.
Tiago Splitter’s men remain focused on one goal: winning as many games as possible in the EuroLeague.
Catch this game live this Friday on Skweek starting at 9 PM! ALLEZ PARIS!
