Hayes: “Always a pleasure to face Kaunas”

Before Facing Kaunas on Wednesday Evening, Our Center Talks About the Team’s Strong Start to the Season and His Reunion with Former Teammates

With this fourth consecutive win in EuroLeague, how does the team feel?

“We’ve faced a lot of adversity since the beginning of the season. We’ve managed to stay focused and stick together. It’s another important win for us. A fourth in a row, which feels great for everyone. We approach each game with the right mindset because we know each match will be tough, and we’ll have to fight. This fuels our ambitions even more.

On Wednesday evening against Zalgiris Kaunas, you’ll face your former club. How do you approach this game?

I approach it knowing that I’m a better player now. I show that on the court by stepping up more, and I’ll need to do that again, especially against my old team. Of course, I know many people in that team, so I have an idea of what to expect from them. But it’s always a pleasure to see them again!

You seem very confident right now. How do you explain that?

The team’s philosophy is very good, and the coach encourages us a lot in that direction. We all have the ability to make big shots, and everyone trusts each other. Opposing defenses have to be wary of everyone, which naturally opens up solutions. All of this helps us to play even faster and more aggressively.

Any final words for the Paris supporters before Wednesday’s game?

I hope all our supporters will be there because theirs travel in big numbers for away games! So you’ll need to be there to cheer us on, just like you’ve been doing since the start of the season.”
