After an outstanding season in 2023-2024, our point guard T.J. Shorts is eager to shine again, with just about a week to go before hosting Red Star Belgrade at the adidas Arena.
T.J., how do you feel, and what are you expecting from this new season?
This is the goal we’ve been fighting for all season, and now to finally say that we’ve made it is an incredible feeling! I’m super excited, super happy for the team. And for me too, to be able to compete at the highest level in Europe. Our goal remains the same: to win as many games as possible. Of course, we’re aware that we’re the new team, not the one expected to have the most success, but we’re going to keep giving everything in every game.
Personally, what does this mean for your career?
I think it can only help. I’ve worked very hard to climb the ranks in Europe. I started in the BCL, then succeeded in the EuroCup, and now reaching the EuroLeague will give me a chance to compete against the best talents. It’s a great test for me and for the team, and I can’t wait to get started.
And collectively, what are your expectations for this season?
First of all, that we enjoy ourselves! It’s something new for a number of players… But we also want to fight hard every night, give ourselves a chance to win games, and live with the results.
Any final words for Parisian fans?
We’re going to need everyone throughout this season with so many games. We need the adidas Arena to be on fire. We hope you’ll support us in this new EuroLeague season!
