In the heart of Paris’ most iconic monument, Paris Basketball brought together its closest family members – players, partners and community leaders – to welcome the club’s new era. A new season, a new competition and a new identity— Paris Basketball is opening a new chapter for sports in Paris, just days after the conclusion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which sparked new energy for culture and sports in Paris and Greater Paris.
Founded in 2018, Paris Basketball’s new visual identity is in line with the DNA of a club that is ambitious and determined to shine, to promote Parisian basketball, and to radiate from Greater Paris to the international stage. This energy has been channeled by Parisian graphic designer Tyrsa and coordinated by the YARD agency, which has been shaping the club’s image since its inception. The identity and logo incorporate an illuminated Eiffel Tower, drawing energy from the talent and creativity of Greater Paris, symbolized by a distinctive star featured across all branding elements.
“I’ve followed the club since its early games at Carpentier’,’ Tyrsa said. “I’ve seen its DNA take shape and rally the basketball community around the project. Given the passion of the fans, I wanted to build on the continuity of what the club has been from the beginning, while bringing something new and symbolic for the city, to represent basketball in Paris and internationally,”. “YARD has been responsible for Paris Basketball’s brand image since the club’s creation. From the start, we wanted something authentically Parisian, that resonates across Greater Paris, and that shakes up the codes of basketball in Europe. It’s been a season-by-season process, and this new identity now brings it all together,” added Tom Brunet, co-founder of YARD.
Now the most-followed basketball club on social media in France, Paris Basketball will reveal its new identity this weekend for the start of Betclic ELITE. The club will play its first home game at the adidas arena on October 4 at 8:45 p.m. against Red Star.
After a successful season with trophies in the LNB Leaders Cup and the EuroLeague’s EuroCup, Paris Basketball continues to develop its brand and is establishing itself as one of the top entertainment experiences in European sports. “Today marks yet another landmark day in the history of Paris Basketball with the unveiling of our new logo“ said David Kahn, the co-owner and CEO of the club. “It comes at such an important moment in the club’s history – just days before our first appearance in the EuroLeague – and just days after the conclusion of the most beautiful Olympics and Paralympics in modern history. “Paris Basketball takes pride in being able to extend the magic of this Olympics summer, with this logo reflecting basketball and Paris in its most natural light.”
