An epic battle! The kind you tell yourself the next day, replaying the scenario. “What if he’d taken the rebound? “What if he’d missed the shot? But the reality is quite different. Great moments require great players. Nerves of steel. Composure. In this game, we had two enormous protagonists: Paris Lee on the ASVEL side, 10/11 on shots, including the last ones in clutch mode, just before Mbaye Ndiaye’s winning rebound. And on the other, Nadir Hifi, in the zone, seeing the circle as big as the ocean in the final quarter and finishing with 27 points.
Except that before this last quarter, there was a game. A game well dominated by ASVEL in all areas of the game, with great success from the outset and consistency even in the hottest moments. Quite simply: they won every quarter but the last. But their lead allowed them to hold on to that small gap at the end of the match. The experience of great moments.
The Parisians struggled to contain the repeated assaults of Paris Lee, Lauvergne and TLC. Despite another great game from MVP TJ Shorts II, it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat. Collin Malcolm suffered an ankle injury late in the match. Let’s hope he recovers quickly for the next game on Tuesday.
As a reminder, the series is best-of-five. The next two games will be played at ASVEL. In the event of a fifth game, it will be played at adidas arena on Sunday.
