Interview

Tara’s Body: “I’ve been involved in basketball since I was a little girl”

As she prepares to take part in her first “Celebrity Game”, Tara’s Body told us all about her excitement ahead of the event at Halle Carpentier this Saturday (4pm). Interview with one of today’s coolest fitness influencers.

Tara, why did you agree to take part in this “celebrity game” when we’re more used to seeing you in dance and fitness gyms?

“Yes, I did. As you know, I’m very athletic at heart. But I’m very fond of basketball because it’s a very complete sport that works on strength, speed and power. It’s also a good discipline for working on your explosiveness”.

What’s your relationship with basketball?

“First of all, you have to know that I’m American (smile)! As an anecdote, my uncle is actually a college basketball coach in the United States and every time I went to visit my family, I’d follow him to watch the games. I really loved the atmosphere, the cheerleaders and especially the players’ performances. It’s great to see. So you could say that I’ve been immersed in basketball since I was a little girl, even though it’s not my favourite sport”.

What does this “Celebrity Game” mean to you?

“First of all, you have to know that it’s going to be a big challenge for me to play, given that I’ve had to play basketball two or three times in my life (laughs). But it’s good because it’s going to take me out of my comfort zone, as it’s not a sport I play regularly. Another important aspect of this event is the fact that we’re ALL playing for an association (Fondation Alice Milliat et de l’Académie Percé). That’s something I really value. Playing for others is the best cause of all”.

Join us this Saturday at 4pm for the second edition of the “Celebrity Game”. An event co-organized by MTV and Paris Basketball.
