HORIZONS
Sport as a gateway to new cultural horizons.
The programme
Launched in 2024, Horizons is the Foundation’s sport and culture programme, designed for and with young people from the City’s Priority Neighbourhoods (QPV) in northern Paris. Its belief is simple: sport does not end on the pitch. It is a starting point for opening doors, sparking curiosity and giving everyone the keys to a world they may not always be familiar with.
Throughout the season, around ten workshops form the backbone of the programme. Each session begins with a group sports activity, before continuing with an outing or a cultural discovery directly linked to the theme of the day. Cinema, music and many other worlds thus enrich the sporting experience, in a constant back-and-forth between the sports ground and the city.
Horizons addresses two major issues: unequal access to sport and culture for young people in certain neighbourhoods, coupled with unequal access for young girls.
The beneficiaries
The programme is aimed at young people from northern Paris, who come together in small groups to foster a sense of community, active listening and personal development for each individual. Through the workshops, they forge bonds, gain confidence and discover places and cultural worlds to which they might not otherwise have had access.
Our commitment
Through Horizons, our foundation reaffirms its belief that sport is a powerful force for empowerment and social cohesion. By systematically combining sporting activities with cultural enrichment, we aim to offer these young people much more than just a chance to play: an experience that broadens their horizons, nurtures their curiosity and guides them, step by step, towards personal fulfilment.
