HERO OF THE GAME

Every match, a new everyday hero is put in the spotlight.

The programme 

Launched when the Paris Basketball Foundation was first established, the ‘Hero of the Game’ programme involves inviting a charity to come and present its work and initiatives on our court at half-time during every match. For a brief moment, these everyday heroes take centre stage in front of several thousand spectators to tell their stories and show how they are making a difference. 

The ‘Hero of the Game’ programme thus offers them an exceptional platform and enables the Foundation to highlight, season after season, the richness and diversity of community engagement across Greater Paris.

The beneficiaries 

The invited organisations have a wide variety of causes, but all align, in one way or another, with one of our five pillars : education, equal opportunities, health and mental health, the environment, and solidarity. 

Our commitment 

Through the ‘Hero of the Game’ initiative, the Paris Basketball Foundation aims to use sport as a platform to highlight the work of charitable organisations. By giving these organisations a voice on our court, we aim not only to recognise their work, but also to raise awareness amongst our audience of vital causes, and to inspire new commitments that extend far beyond the duration of a single match.
